Esther Alman Banning Burris

1924-2012


Esther Alma Banning Burris, 87, of Butte, Montana passed away at Parkview Acres Care and Rehabilitation Center in Dillon on May 28th, 2012.  She was born in Dillon to William and Jennie (Johnson) Leach on November 6th, 1924.
She attended grade school and high school in Dillon and married Wallis Banning on April 24th, 1941.  The two had four children; Bill, Pat, Steve, and Cindi.  They lived on the Banning Ranch South of Dillon for several years then moved to Argenta where they lived for about 6 years.  They made weekly trips to town for supplies and the kids enjoyed the movie theatre while they shopped.  They also spent one summer in Coolidge where Wallis was the caretaker at the mine. As their family grew they moved to Dillon.
Esther enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and her flowers.  Wallis passed away on March 14, 1965.  She later married BJ (Red) Burris in July of 1970 and they made their home in Butte.  They enjoyed camping and snowmobiling.  Red passed away in January of 2001 and Esther continued to live in Butte.  One of the highlights of her life was a trip that she made to Australia in 2002.  She was able to stay for 3 months with family and she talked about it for years.  She lived in Butte until ill health forced her to move to Dillon to the care center.
Esther is preceded in death by her husbands, her brothers; Rudolph Nygren, Ernest Nygren, Walter Leach, and sister; Ellen Tate.  She is survived by children; William (Linda) Banning of South Carolina, Pat (Wayne) Farber, of Spokane, Washington, Steve (Salle) Banning of Dillon, Cindi (Fred) Bosch of Butte, step-children; Wayne (Jean) Burris of Laurel, and Tom (Sorrel) Burris of Wyoming, 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Margaret Marcella Kimbler

1942-2012


Margie Marcella Kimbler, 69, of Dillon, Montana passed away on May 27, 2012.  Margie was born in Everett, Washington on October 14, 1942 to Floyd C. and Bernice L. Humes.  Margie lived in Washington and Oregon for many years.  She was married to Thomas E. Kimbler on March 20, 1972.  They had one child a daughter in 1971.  She worked as a waitress and she was also a volunteer firefighter in Oregon.  Mrs. Kimbler was preceded in death by her husband on July 6, 1994.  Mrs. Kimbler was a member of the Assembly of God Church.  Margie was preceded in death by her mother Bernice L. Humes, her father Flyde C. Humes, grandmother Lulu Curry and grand-father George Curry.  She is survived by a daughter Leola Hulet and son-in-law Bert Hulet of Blackfoot, Idaho, a brother Floyd “Bud” Humes of Yakima, Washington, a half-sister Shirley V. Dunsmuir of Estacada, Oregon, a nephew Trevor J.
