Margaret Beatrice Withington Lewison
1911-2009
Margaret Beatrice Withington Lewison died Thursday, Oct. 7, at Homestead Assisted Living in Rigby, Idaho.
She was born March 29, 1911, in Salmon, Idaho, to William Joseph and Margaret Mae Withington. She was raised in the Salmon area and attended school in Sandy Creek, Leadore and high school in Salmon. She excelled in track events. Margaret and her sister Adell used to sing harmony as well as play music for country dances with their brother, Harvey.
On Feb. 13, 1941, she married Lyle Sanford Lewison. They spent most of their married years in the Dillon and Lima area.
Margaret was renowned for her cooking abilities and cooked on many ranches in the Beaverhead county area, including the P & O, Roe Ranch, Glead Ranches, and Montgomery Ranch.
She loved to dance, sing, and play the piano. She had a great sense of humor and could see the humorous side of most situations.
She is survived by her children Mardell (Ralph) Hagemo of Missoula; Billy (Donna) Bear of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Bonnie Schafer of Rigby, Idaho; eleven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and two brothers.
Graveside services will be held at the Lima Cemetery, Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Taro Golden Sr. officiating.
