Allie Patricia McFadden Ori  

1930 – 2013


Allie Patricia  McFadden Ori passed away 4/22/13 after a lengthy battle with COPD.  She was 82 at the time of her death.  She was born July 31, 1930 to Theodore and Allie McFadden.  She attended local schools in Dillon prior to attending the University of Montana to study music. She transferred to the acclaimed Northwestern University School of Music in Evanston, Ill., where she completed her studies. Pat was an accomplished opera singer and following graduation she performed throughout the United States including the Metropolitan Opera and Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in LA.  She performed with many celebrities along the way.
While in Chicago she met her then to be husband Dominic and they were married on June 27, 1953 in Highland Park, Ill.  Pat always wanted to return to Dillon and in 1957 they made their way back to Montana to start their lives here.  They never left.
Pat continued her music career and performed many community concerts throughout Montana with her cherished accompanist and lifelong friend Ginny Davis.  They were featured at the Bannack Centennial in 1964 with Gov. Tim Babcock.
She took pride in providing singing lessons for some of Dillon’s finest vocalists and also was a faculty member of the music department at Western Montana College.
Their time in Montana was spent following their children and grandchildren throughout the state of Montana for the many athletic events they participated in.
Pat and Dom traveled throughout the world and they made many friends along the way especially the friends in Palm Desert, California where they spent their winters.  Pat continued to participate in choirs and loved to sing during functions at Woodhaven Country Club.
During her final years she took great pride in being the greeter at the Beaverhead County Museum and could always be found at Ted’s office helping out.
Her most cherished accomplishment was being the greatest Mom and grandmother to her kids and grandkids.  Even in the face of the challenges she faced the last few  years, she was always there for a hug and valued her family and close friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Dominic, her parents Allie and Theodore McFadden and a granddaughter Marissa Leigh Ori.  
She is survived by her sons Ted and wife Jeannette, Keith and wife Susan of Kalispell, Shawn and his wife Lynn from Butte, and her daughter Robyn.  She is survived by her grandchildren, John, Dana and AnnMarie Ori,  Kellen, Alena and Briana Ori,  McKenna, Connor and McKaul Ori and Daniel and Allie Morstein.
Services are currently planned for Thursday at Brundage Funeral Home at 11 a.m.  Charitable donations can be made to Beaverhead Ambulance, Dillon Hospice or a charity of your choice.



Wallace W. McMannis 

1922 - 2013


Wallace W. McMannis, 90, of Hamilton passed January 23, 2013, at the Discovery Care Center in Hamilton.
He was born December 20, 1922, in Mullan, ID, to the late William and Elsie McMannis. Wallace was raised and educated in Dillon.
Wallace entered the U.S. Army Air Corps and served as a first lieutenant with the 354th Fighter Group in Europe, where he flew combat missions.
He married Elizabeth Beaver in Bend, OR, on June 30, 1946. She passed away in October 26, 1970. He married Ramona Young and they were later divorced. He married Merle Schmittroth in 1982. She passed away on January 26, 2004.
Following the war, Wallace returned to college at Montana State University, where he earned his degree in mechanical engineering. He then moved to Portland, OR, where he worked as a mechanical engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers.
He is survived by: his children, Lynn McMannis, Mark McMannis, Christy McMannis and Guy McMannis; stepdaughter Janice Meltzer; sisters Carol Farmer and Bonnie Burton; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, April 19, and urn placement followed at Riverview Cemetery, with military honors presented by the US Army, Hamilton American Legion and the Marine Corps League Bitterroot Detachment.



Richard (Dick) Melvin McNinch 

1923 - 2013


Richard (Dick) Melvin McNinch, 90, passed away on April 20, 2013, at his home in Lima. Dick was born on January 5, 1923, in Dillon, to Leslie and Annie McNinch.
 Dick went to grade school and high school in Dell and Lima.  After high school, Dick attended the Butte School of Mines and graduated with a CPA degree. In May 1944, Dick was drafted into the Army, served in Germany during the final days of World War II and was discharged in June 1946.
 On June 11, 1947, Dick married Bonnie Jean Harkness. They lived up Big Sheep Creek on a ranch, where they raised their two daughters until 1993, when they moved to the outskirts of Lima.
 During the early years of their marriage, Dick, Bonnie and Bonnie’s family provided music for dances around the area. Dick played the guitar, banjo, fiddle and the harmonica.
 Dick is survived by: his wife, Bonnie; daughters Diana (Dick) Walrath and Evelyn (Chuck) Larsen; grandsons Jonathon Walrath, Jason Walrath and Mark (Chantel) Larsen; granddaughter Peggy (Stephen) Bauman; brother Ted (Joan) McNinch; brother-in-law Bernard (Jean) Harkness; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
 Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Friday, April 26, at the Lima Community Church, with Pastor Chuck Bush presiding. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. in the Church. Following the funeral, burial will take place at the Lima Cemetery. A luncheon will be served back at the Church by the ladies of the Church following the committal rite. Brundage Funeral Home of Dillon has charge of services.



Minerva Elvira “Dollie” Miskowic 

1936 - 2013


Minerva Elvira “Dollie” Miskowic, 77, of Dillon, passed away surrounded by her family on April 11.  She was born on Feb. 14, 1936, in Leadville, CO, to John and Viola Luoma.  Dollie traveled all over the U.S., attending family reunions and visiting friends. Dollie lived in Germany for three years and visited Switzerland and Belgium. Dollie was always up for an adventure and exploring the areas that she visited.
 She began VolksMarching in Germany and continued upon returning to the U.S. She enjoyed outings with the Senior Center in Leavenworth, exercising with residents of Legacy, water aerobics, spinning at the YMCA,  playing the odds at the casinos and sharing a good toddy with friends and family. She loved making people smile and laugh, and had a wonderful loving spirit.
 She was preceded in death by: her husband, Gerald Miskowic; and her brothers Frank, Fred and Herb Luoma.  She is survived by: her brothers Robert Luoma of Bend, OR, Vern Luoma of Golden, CO, and Jack Luoma of Littleton, CO; sister Viola Weldon, of Thorton, CO; her children, Gerald Miskowic of Lansing, KS, Lawrence Miskowic of Olathe, KS, Cheryl Miskowic of Dillon;  grandchildren Jessica Herren of Dillon, Samantha Guisbert of Dillon, Stephen Miskowic of Abilene, TX, Daniel Miskowic of Lansing, KS, Jack, Miskowic of Beaver Falls, PA, Taren and Remington Murray of Lansing, Kansas; and great grandchildren Harper Felo, Elizabeth Herren and Savannah Herren of Dillon.
 A memorial service held Friday, April 19, at 4 p.m. at the family residence, 10 Hughes Ln.
 Although we will miss her presence, we will rest in the knowledge that she has gone to join her Father in Heaven and is reunited with family and friends that have preceded her in death. Rest assured that she will be watching over us from above and will surely find ways to make us laugh and smile still.

Colin Drake Henry 

1991 – 2013


Collin Drake Henry, 22, of Dillon, passed away Monday April 15, 2013. He was born in Dillon, Jan. 4, 1991.
Collin is survived by: his mother, Deanne Smith; brother Anthony Child; sister Kiara Smith; sister Jennifer; brother Dylan; step-father William Smith; and father Howard Wayne Henry II.
A viewing will be held Thursday 5-8 p.m. at Brundage Funeral Home and will be open to all friends and family. A service honoring the memory of his life will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at Brundage Funeral Home.
