Doris M. Crockford 

1930-2012 


Funeral Mass for Doris M. Crockford, 81, of the Pinnacle area near Essex was celebrated Friday, Oct. 12 at St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Columbia Falls. Burial of cremated remains was in St. Richard’s Cemetery, Columbia Falls. Mrs. Crockford died of cancer Oct. 9 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center, Kalispell.
A vigil rosary was prayed Thursday, Oct. 11, at Columbia Mortuary, Columbia Falls.
She was born Nov. 29, 1930, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Thomas and Leora Lindsay Driscoll. She was reared in Los Angeles, where she attended St. Agnes Catholic schools, graduating in 1948. She married William R. “Bill” Crockford in Los Angeles on Feb. 11, 1950. Following his discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps, they moved to Shelby, Mont., briefly returning to Southern California in 1952 before settling again in Shelby that year. They later moved to Cut Bank, Mont., then to Fort Benton, Mont., where they lived for about 18 years.
During their years in Fort Benton, she was active in the PTA, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the local community theater group and in various other volunteer endeavors. In June 1973, the family returned to Cut Bank, where they lived for 23 years.
In Cut Bank, she was active in St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, the school parents’ organization and the Cursillos in Christianity movement and had various other volunteer affiliations. She also worked Glacier County Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home in Cut Bank.
In 1996, following the high school graduation of their youngest daughter, she and Bill moved to the family cabin at Pinnacle, west of Essex, where they lived together until his death in November 2007. She has been a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church for the past 16 years.
She was an avid reader and lifelong learner, particularly in regard to matters relating to her Catholic faith. As a homemaker, she set high standards for her children that continue to ensure their success in life.
Mrs. Crockford is survived by sons Dick Crockford and his wife Debbie of Dillon, Tom Crockford and his wife Gina of Boise, Id., Paul Crockford and his wife Shirley of Shelby, Patrick Crockford and his wife Veronica of Lemoore, Calif., and Christopher Crockford of Billings; daughters Theresa Norman and her husband Matt of Great Falls, Mary Ellen Crockford of Helena and Mary Crockford of Missoula; sisters Patricia Carlson of Long Beach, Calif., and Margaret Rickey of Petaluma, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and an infant twin brother.



Elizabeth Duffy 

1935-2012


Elizabeth Duffy Born Nov. 18, 1935, passed away Oct. 6.
She is survived by her daughter Norma Duffy, and her grand daughter Micol Leyva, grandson Lando Leyva and great grand daughters Alex and Montana Leyva.
Born in Ross California, Liz was a veteran of the Korean war, a photographer for AeroJet, and an asphalt specialist for Conoco Oil out of Denver.
She is survived her Husband Richard Duffy. When she retired she took care of her Mother who had a stroke, her sister who had cancer and her son who had muscular dystrophy.
She did what any family member would have hoped and more, May she rest in peace.



Jim Hager 

1934-2012


Jim Hager passed away peacefully at the Parkview Acres on Saturday, Oct. 13.
Jim Hager was born May 28, 1934 in Wenatchee, Washington to Lawrence Hager and Florence Weinkauf.
He met Louise Meeds in Spokane and they got married in 1954 in Dillon. He went to work for the Union Pacific railroad where he continued for 20 years until he became disabled. During their marriage they were blessed with four children.
Jim is survived by his former wife, Louise Hager of Dillon; and their four children Cheryl (Buck) Decker of Dillon Montana; Cindy (Vince) Kozakiewicz of Boise, Idaho; Larry (Laura) Hager of Holbrook, Arizona; and Kimberly (Steve) Kirchmeyer of Sacramento, California; he is also survived by his daughter Cassandra Hager of Rock Springs, Wyoming; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside military honors were conducted on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Mountain View Cemetery in Dillon. A guestbook is available on-line at www.brundagefuneralhome.com.
