Delcine Smith Nottingham
1930 - 2011

Our mom, Delcine Smith Nottingham, was born Jan. 6, 1930, in Pocatello, Idaho, and passed away June 9 in Sheridan.
At a young age she moved with her parents and brother to Dillon, and then later to Sheridan where she spent most of her life. She described a very happy childhood growing up in Sheridan making many life long friends. She attended elementary school in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1948.
Her goal in life was to be a mother and homemaker, and toward that end she married Oria J. Nottingham in August of 1950. Together they had four sons. Later she married Don Hansen and they also had several happy years together.
Delcine was a kind, generous, humble, caring, creative, and non-judgemental person. In addition to her family her passion in life was flower gardening. She grew beautiful flowers anywhere she could find a place to plant them, which sometimes made mowing difficult.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adelbert Clark Smith and Lucille K. Burlingame Smith; her brother, Jack Smith; and her beloved grandson, Del Nottingham.
She is survived by her sons Sig (Kathryn), Dan (Denise), Mat (Susan), and Joe (Linda); and stepdaughter, Teresa (Gary) Kendall. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Erin (Adam) Chase, Skye, Holly and Tyson Nottingham, Chris and Matt Nottingham, Lynsey (Dave) Tirado, Katie (Tom) Fritz, Tucker Nottingham, John (Kathleen) Nottingham, Brian Nottingham, Dan (Renee) Nottingham; and nine great-grandchildren, Hailey, Maddie, Carsen, Jacob, Zack, Brayden, Suzi, Joey and Jack; cousins, Carol (Fred) Salmonsen, Helen Marie Burt and Pat (Irene) Burlingame; and special friends, Ella Todd, Donna and Ted Darby, Sandy Maddison, Thalia Stansil Sullender, Jeanette Braach Hall, Bebe Gemmell Spring, Marge Brown and Julie Larsen.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Laurin, with Father Joseph Finnegan officiating. Interment followed in the Sheridan Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Nottingham, Brian Nottingham, Dan Nottingham, Tucker Nottingham, Chris Nottingham, Matt Nottingham and Tyson Nottingham.
Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, Rocky Mountain Hospice, or charity of your choice.
K&L Mortuaries of Sheridan assisted with arrangements.
