Janet Isabel Scott  

1930-2012


Janet Isabel Scott passed away at her home in Baker City, OR, on Dec. 26, 2012, at the age of 82.
She was born on Jan. 31, 1930, in Dillon, the youngest of four children, to Ray David Curry and Mary Thibaudeau Curry.
Janet graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Physical Education and English, and went on to attend Stanford University in California. At the Presidio Army Base in San Francisco, she met a young wounded soldier, Roy E Scott, whom she later married on June 1, 1952. She always liked to joke about pulling her husband’s leg the first time she met him.
Janet worked as a teacher along with her husband in many different schools, from Arizona to Montana, and overseas in India.
They were instrumental in building schools in both Arizona and Montana. During this time she also maintained her Physical Therapy licenses and owned her own Physical Therapy practice in Bend, OR.
Janet had a beautiful voice and loved singing. She sang with the San Francisco Opera Company while studying at Stanford as a young woman and continued to sing with the Episcopal Church choir in the various places she lived. She was an accomplished pianist and marksman who also enjoyed snowmobiling and fencing. Janet was devoted to her husband and family.
Janet was preceded in death by: her parents, Ray & Mary Curry; both her brothers, Ray “David” Curry II and William Curry; her sister, Patricia Curry Kristiansen; her grandson, Rhian Kossler; her husband, Roy Scott; her son-in-law, Gary Grace; and her granddaughter, Kirian Kossler.
She is survived by: her daughter Kathryn Grace of Halfway, OR; her daughter and son-in-law Judy Gage Scott and Devery Gage of Bend, OR; her grandson Ian Kossler and his wife Rebecca Kossler of Sunriver, OR; her granddaughter Briana Sutherlin and her husband JT Sutherlin of Halfway, OR; her granddaughter Samantha Gage of Bend, OR; her great-grandsons Ian & Waco Kossler and Tristan Grace; her great-granddaughters Mackenzie, Josephine and Kieran Sutherlin; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members, and by her friends who love and miss her.
Janet’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held in Bend , OR, at Trinity Episcopal Church on June 1, 2013, at 1 p.m.

Jodi Lynne Rude  

1968-2013


Jodi Lynne Rude, 45, passed away on Feb. 21, 2013, at Barrett Hospital in Dillon, surrounded by her family.
Jodi was born January 5, 1968, in Patterson, CA, to Manuel and Claudene Berberia.
She is survived by: her four daughters, Tara Dawn, Kyla Breann and Erica Lynne Rude, all of Dillon, and Ember (Brandan) Craig of Idaho. She is also survived by by her parents Manuel (Levurn) Berberia of California. and Claudene Berberia of Dillon; by her sister, Rachelle (Tray) Morse of Jefferson City, Montana,; by her niece, Ashley Rene Berberia of Butte, Montana,and her nephew, Deven Jon Duty of Jefferson City, Montana; by her granddaughter, Aarilynn Elizabeth Henderson; by her great niece, Jayden Rene Christopher; and by her Aunt Nancy and Uncle Steve Keene of Melrose, Montana.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Manuel Berberia Jr. and grandparents Claude and Sis Dodgson.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service was held at Brundage Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013.



Thelma O. Sorenson  

1927-2013
Thelma O. Sorenson, 85, a longtime resident of Hamilton  and Montana, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 18, 2013.
She was born May 25, 1927, in Boston, MA. Thelma was the loving wife of Elmer F. Sorenson for 65 years and the mother of nine children: Edith Neil, Doris Marjerison (Jack), Ralph Sorenson (Esther), Teresa Cohen (Bob), Linda Phillips, Sherry Lindsey (Bud), Larry Sorenson (Lori), Mark Sorenson (Jen) and Kristy McRae (Scott).
She was grandmother to 22 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 19 great-grandchildren.
Thelma was preceded in death by: her parents, Olive & Ralph Luke; her sister Pearl Hershelman; grandson Percy Phillips; and sons-in-law Frank Neil and Eric Simonson.
She is survived by her sister Edith Johansen and by her brother, Willard Luke, of Virginia.
A memorial service for Thelma O. Sorenson will be held later this summer when all of her children can be present. Interment will follow at the family plot in Dillon.
