Dean H. Wright  

1925 – 2012


Dean H Wright, age 87, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012. He was born in Provo, Utah, on June 29, 1925, to Lorin and Orlinda Wright. He served in the Pacific Campaign of World War II. He married Joan Doman on March 19, 1948, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Shortly after their marriage, he was called to serve a two-year LDS mission to the Northwestern States mission.
After graduating from BYU with a degree in business, he and Joan made their home in Dillon, Montana, where he was the founder and co-owner of The Dilmart. Dean continually served his family, neighbors, and community. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, including 9 ½ years as the President of the Butte Montana Stake. Dean and Joan were married for 40 years and were serving a mission in Baton Rouge, LA when Joan passed away.
Dean was blessed to marry Lavoice Garrett Evans for time in the Salt Lake Temple on March 13, 1989. They were joyfully married for 23 years and served three missions together: one in Chicago, Illinois, one in Bluff, Utah, and one at the MTC in Provo, Utah.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan, his brothers Larvin and Boyd Wright, and his sister, Wanda LeeMaster. He is survived by his wife Lavoice Wright; his sisters and brother Zelma Lewis, Orlinda (Bob) Mower, Mary Beth Dalton, Larene (Lee) Loy, and Von (Marge) Wright; his daughters DeeAnn (Lyn) Ballard, Robyn (Bill) Walker, Cristie (Dan) Lengstorf, Wendy (Mike) Sheffield; his step-children Randy (Karen) Evans, Kim Evans, Mark (Maria) Evans, Jennifer Evans; 25 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
A viewing was held on Thursday evening, December 27 at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. Funeral Services were held Friday, December 28 in the Suncrest 9th Ward chapel 130 North 400 West in Orem with a viewing that afternoon from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery, in Dillon, Montana, on Saturday at 3 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.walkersanderson.com
