Hubert Thayer ‘Bud’ Alley
1939 - 2012

Hubert T. 'Bud' Alley, 72, died at his home in Riverton, Wyo., on March 22, with his wife by his side.
Hubert Thayer Alley was born in Dillon on May 17, 1939, the son of Thayer Faust Alley and Marjorie Lee (Smith) Alley.
He graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 1957, and holds the Beaverhead County High School pole vault record of 12-feet 6-inches using a wood pole.
Mr. Alley lived in Ennis 15 years, in Dillon for two years, and Riverton, Wyo., for 55 years. He married Agnes May Loghry in Riverton on May 17, 1959.
Mr. Alley was engaged in the construction industry and mining. He worked for Western Nuclear, at the U.S. Steel mine on South Pass, at the Lucky McMine, for Ofetadal Construction, and at the Starlite Lanes in Riverton, Wyo., retiring in 2001.
His family said Mr. Alley was an avid bowler, enjoyed horseshoes, cars, motorcycles, camping, hunting, sports of all types, family gatherings, and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Survivors include his wife Agnes (Loghry) Alley, Riverton, Wyo.; a son, Ellis Dean Alley, Gillette, Wyo.; two daughters, Peggy Alley (Scott) Martin and Linda Alley (Mitch) Drewry, all of Riverton, Wyo.; eight grandchildren, Heidi and Joel Phipps, Kim Alley, Ben Alley, Jeremy and Emily Alley, Jared and Stephanie Martin, Josh Martin, Trevor Drewry and Shay Drewry; five great-grandchildren, Connor and Karsyn Phipps, Dakota, Makiah and Braylan Alley and Noah Alley; and one great-grandchild on the way; brothers, Jerry (Cyndie) Alley and Jim (Leona) Alley; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and Thayer Alley; and a brother, Lewis 'Butch' Alley.
Graveside services were March 27 at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton. Services were under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
