Steven Thomas Rose

1961 - 2010

Steven Thomas Rose, Aug. 5, 1961 to Aug. 9, 2010, was born in Dillon to Ken and Darlene Rose.
Steve grew up in Argenta until his family moved to Dillon, when he was in the second grade.
He graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 1980, and soon after married Debi (Wood) Rose in May of 1981.
He loved spending time with his family, hunting, being in the hills and working with his hands. Steve built many beautiful things during his life and loved to share his knowledge with others.
Steve graduated with honors from Western Montana College in 2003 with his bachelor’s in industrial technology and history; he then went on to teach in Augusta for two years.
Steve had many talents during his life. In addition to being a teacher he worked as a metal fabricator, Youth ChalleNGe teacher, Beaverhead County Sheriff’s office detention officer, and spent eight summers at the BLM as forestry technician.
Steve was also the owner/ operator of a custom saw mill in Argenta for many years.
Steve is survived by his wife, Debi; son, Tyrel Rose; daughter, Tara Rose-Miller and her husband Matt Miller; the many children of his heart including Eric, Alecia and Landon Wendland, Travis Nicely, Chad Merquort, Shaydean Saye, Raymond Firman and Brian Neal; many other great friends who were always there for him including Harold Brown, Jason Smith, Mark OConnell, Joe Casey, Ed Jones, Larry Lager, Mary Beardon, Angie Morse, Donna Capazole, and Mike McIntire.
He is also survived by his mother, Darlene Rose, Dillon; sister, Cheryl and her husband Chuck McCloskey, Whitehall; brother Scott Rose, Phoenix; sister, Connie Martinez, Dillon; brother, Mark Rose, Dillon; and sister, Colleen Rose Argenta.
Memorial services were held Sunday, Aug. 15, at 1 p.m., at Brundage Chapel.
