John F. Shannon
1919 - 2010
John F. Shannon passed away quietly on June 2 in Boise at the age of 91. John was born March 19, 1919 in Great Falls.
John began a 27-year career with the U.S. Soil Conversation Service beginning in the state of Washington. In 1963 he and his wife Ruth, and son Pat, moved to Dillon for two years. They then lived in Polson for 20 years before returning to Dillon in 1985 to enjoy the fishing and hunting. They were active in the Dillon Presbyterian church. In 1992, they moved to Idaho to be near their son and his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ruth; his son Patrick and daughter-in-law, Kathy, Boise; and by his two special grandchildren, Jackie Shannon,Boise, and Jason Shannon,Sunnyvale, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Our husband, father, and grandfather was a kind and gentle man who we all love very much. We will miss him but are comforted knowing he had a long and wonderful life.
Ellwood Stratton Memorial Service
There will be a memorial service for Ellwood Stratton on Monday, June 21, at l p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Dillon.
Ellwood passed away on March 12, in Kalispell.
