Steven Tracy Hess
1943 - 2013
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, Steven Tracy Hess, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Lima, surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 21, 2013.
He was born on May 7, 1943, in Salt Lake City, UT. His loving parents, Tracy W. Hess and Florence Bourne Hess, celebrated in his long-awaited arrival to their eternal family. He was their only child. He was raised in Farmington, UT, where he was surrounded by cherished cousins, aunts and uncles. He attended Davis High School, where rodeo was his passion.
Steve married Cheryl Spencer in 1967. From that union were born four daughters: Stephanie Hess, Syracuse, UT; Tracy Clarno (Bill), Dell; Charlene Jensen (Lance), Syracuse, UT; and Kadie Briggs (Mike), Depuyer.
Steve married his eternal companion, Bonnie Paulus, on August 6, 1987, a union that added to his family two more daughters: Jacqueline Regan, West Valley City UT; and Tamera Wilson (Bruce), West Valley City, UT. He added two more special children, Jase Berriochoa (Alison) and Cali Weekes (Justin), to complete the family.
He resided for the past 34 years in Lima, where he ranched and served in religious, agricultural, and community endeavors.
Steve’s most important legacy to his family was his love and devotion to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, children and his grandchildren—Ashlee Thomas, Karissa Thomas, Colton (Ashlee) Clarno, Cimbrelyn Clarno, Caden Clarno, Cenzington Clarno, Troy Scott, Bailey Berriochoa, Mason Jensen, Breanna Jensen, Karsyn Jensen, KwinLee Briggs, Spencer Briggs, Hyrum Briggs, Reed Briggs, Boston Weekes and Tristin Weekes. He is also survived by two great granddaughters, Fayth and Audrey Clarno.
A visitation will be held at the Lima LDS Church on Thursday, March 28, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., with funeral services starting at 1 p.m.. Committal services will be held at the Farmington City Cemetery in Farmington, UT, on Friday, March 29 at 11 a.m.
His quirky sense of humor will be missed dearly by all those who loved and knew him.
Charlotte Ann Scofield
1949 – 2013
Charlotte Ann Scofield passed on March 19, 2013.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1949, at the old Barrett Memorial Hospital in Dillon, to James and Betty Scofield.
Charlotte was married to Eric Mickelson of Big Piney, WY, and they have two children, Rowdy Mickelson, also of Big Piney, and Jenny Mickelson, of Dillon, and two grandchildren, Alyson and Isaac Mickelson.
Services were held Saturday, March 23, at the Lutheran Church, with burial following at Mountain View Cemetery in Dillon.
Rosa Lee Thurman
1942 – 2013
Rosa Lee Thurman 71, died March 20, 2013, at Barrett Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on January 24, 1942, to Drefice and June Thurman in Benham, KY.
She was preceded in death by her mother June. She is survived by her sister, Marie (Sissy) Phliger (Knapp).
Services were held on Tuesday, March 26 at Brundage Funeral Home.
Evelyn Irene Dodd
1916 – 2013
Evelyn Irene Dodd, 96, of Dillon, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born May 10, 1916, in Glenfield, ND, to Edward and Mable McCord. Memorial services are being planned for May 10, at the First Presbyterian Church in Dillon.
