Margaret “Louise” Nelson

1928 - 2013

Margaret “Louise” Nelson, 83, died of natural causes on March 7, 2013, at her Missoula home.
She was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Spokane, WA to B.F. and Signe Rogers. She earned an associate degree in education. She married Bill Nelson on Aug. 25, 1950.
She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the source of her greatest pride, and she loved all of them with her whole heart. She never missed an activity that her grandchildren were involved in! In the earlier years in the Big Hole she was involved in her children’s school, cooking for everyone on the ranch and made time for an occasional bridge game with her many friends in the Big Hole. She and Bill made a great life for their family in the Big Hole and in Dillon. She was very involved in her grandchildren’s soccer and gymnastics and served as room grandmother at Cold Springs after moving to Missoula.
She loved taking care of her home, planting flowers and going on picnics with her family. Last summer she had the joy of seeing two of her grandchildren get married and spent time with both of her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by: her husband, Bill; two sons, Fritz Nelson and Scott Nelson (Ruthanne), and daughter Paula Seaholm (Dave); brother, Herb Roger; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, B.F. and Signe Rogers; her mother and father in-law, Fred and Margaret Nelson; and her sisters-in-law, Jean Nelson and Jean Rogers.
Her passing will leave a big void in our lives, but we will feel her love for all of us forever.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Please send donations in memory of Louise to the Missoula Humane Society.

Arlie Wirth Albeck

1931 - 2013

Arlie Wirth Albeck was a kind man of enormous integrity. He was also milk-through-the-nose funny. He passed away on February 11, 2013, at Northwest Hospital in Seattle.
Arlie was born in Wenatchee, WA. In the US Coast Guard he earned a 1st class radio-telephone license and served from 1949 to 1952. He then attended Dillon Teachers College and graduated with a degree in elementary education. Arlie’s teaching career spanned 38 years and took him from a Hutterite community to over 30 years at Adams Elementary School in Seattle. He spent summers as a VISTA volunteer with migrant children, as a tutor for blind children and as an actor in Seattle Children’s Theatre. He was a member of Brass Pounders and the American Legion.
Among Arlie’s broad interests were archaeology, covered bridges, snow apples and music by The Celtic Women singers. He studied handcrafted log cabin construction techniques and had instruction manuals translated from their original Norwegian sources.
His values were reflected in his charitable contributions to the Seattle Public Library Foundation, the Seattle Humane Society and the Arlie Albeck Elementary Education Endowment at the University of Montana Western in Dillon.
Arlie was preceded in death by his parents, Daphne E. (Finney Anderson) and Clarence J. Albeck, and by his sister, Clarine Y. Warder. He is survived by his nieces, Mandy Allen, Lisa Warder and Amy Woodworth, all residents of Colorado.
Internment of ashes will be at the family plot in Wilson Creek, WA. Please sign the Online Guestbook and share your memories at: www.cookfamilyfuneralhome.com.
