Theola S. Watkins
1948 – 2013
Theola Jean (Schreiber) Watkins, 64, of Dillon passed away on August 24, 2013, in Dillon from a long battle with MS since 1989 and other health problems.
She was born in Batesville, IN, on August 28, 1948, to Virginia and August (Gus) Schreiber. She moved to Dillon later and attended Beaverhead County High School, and then married John Nutter. They had two sons, Donald and John, and later divorced. She met Jim Watkins in 1974; they were married in February 1975 and had one daughter, Jamie.
Theola is survived by: her husband of 38 years, Jim Watkins of Dillon; sons Don (Shawn) Watkins of Dillon and John (Lindi) Watkins of Sidney; and daughter Jamie Harlicker of Three Forks. Theola was preceded in death by her mother. She is also survived by: her father, Gus Schreiber of Dillon; sister Claire Burk of Missoula; grandchildren Brittney and Brandon Watkins of Dillon, and Faith Harlicker of Owatonna, MN; mother-in-law Harriet Watkins of Dillon; and several nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed the many years that she had worked with the 4-H Hogs Back club and being with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed working with craft projects and spending time with her cats.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 28 at Brundage Funeral Home in Dillon. The memorial will be at 1 p.m. followed by a reception at the Dillon Elks Lodge. Her ashes will be interred at a later date. A guestbook is available online at www.brundagefuneralhome.com.
