Marvin Lee Stewart
1937-2013
Marvin Lee Stewart, 76, of Dillon, passed away quietly with family by his side on Thursday, June 27, 2013.
Marv was born on April 29, 1937, in Ennis, and married Bea Duke on January 28, 1956. Together, they had enjoyed 54 wonderful years when Bea passed away on March 14, 2010.
Marv and his wife ran Marv’s OK Tire in Dillon; Stewart’s Tire in Pocatello, ID; and Snake River Tire in Twin Falls, ID. He was generous and had a heart of gold. Marv was a wonderful and loving father and husband.
Marv was preceded in death by his wife, Bea. He is survived in life by: his children Debbie Stewart (Don Grayson) of Dillon, Miles (Tawnya) Stewart of Twin Falls and Kassie (Danny) Wilson of Boise; grandchildren Charlie (Tammy) Harrison, Shawn (Angela) Harrison, Sharde’ Bement, Journee Stewart, Weston (Cami) Morrison and Tawni (Trenton) Vaird; his sisters Terry Lyn, Sherry and Billie; and many great-grandchildren.
There is a visitation scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Wed. July 3, at Brundage Funeral Home. Funeral Services are scheduled for Fri. July 5 at 2 p.m. at the Beaverhead County Fairgrounds on the west side of the arena, as this is where Marv sat to watch the rodeo. A reception will follow committal service at the Elk’s Lodge. Thelma O. Sorenson
1927-2013
Thelma O. Sorenson, 85, longtime Hamilton resident, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 18, 2013. She was born May 25, 1927, in Boston, MA.
Thelma was the loving wife of Elmer F. Sorenson for 65 years and the mother of nine children: Edith Neil; Doris Marjerison (Jack); Ralph Sorenson (Esther); Teresa Cohen (Bob); Linda Phillips; Sherry Lindsey (Bud); Larry Sorenson (Lori); Mark Sorenson (Jen); and Kristy McRae (Scott). She also had 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olive & Ralph Luke, sister Pearl Hershelman, grandson Percy Phillips and sons-in-law Frank Neil and Eric Simonson.
She is survived by her sister Edith Johansen and brother Willard Luke (Virginia). A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6 at the United Methodist American Baptist Church in Hamilton. Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m. Monday July 8, 2013, at the cemetery in Dillon.
